About cricket bat willow
English willow is graded on the cleft's grain count and blemish, not on how it plays: Grade 1 carries the straightest, cleanest grain, while Grade 2 and 3 clefts perform the same but show more butterfly stain and marking. Kashmir willow is denser and harder, which makes it the sensible choice for tape-ball and softball cricket or a first season in juniors. Every senior bat we sell can be knocked in and oiled in our workshop before it ships, and our own handmade custom bats are cut to your weight, sweet-spot position and handle shape.
